Our Programs

Alpine Conditioning

The Alpine Conditioning program is suitable for any fitness level, from beginners to seasoned gym goers and elite athletes. Each one hour session is programmed to improve athletic performance in all of your mountain activities and includes an agility, strength, and cardio component. 

Instructors hold a minimum of a nationally recognized Personal Trainer Certificate. A health screening questionnaire is required as a prerequisite before joining the Alpine Conditioning program.

Classes run daily from Monday to Friday. Check our class schedule for more information.

Alpine Strength

A one hour session focusing on strength, which includes mobility work, weight lifting, and a work out of the day.  Our goal for the athletes in this class is to build muscular strength and endurance through functional lifts and core stability exercises. Alpine Strength classes are capped at a maximum of 10 people, giving you more one on one time with our coaches to work on correct technique and ensuring safety.

 

Instructors hold a minimum CrossFit Level 1 Certificate.  The completion of Alpine Foundations or permission from a Black Beaver Athletic coach is required as a prerequisite for this program.

Open Gym

Our Open Gym sessions are designed to let you work out on your own while utilising our space and equipment. During Open Gym there are no structured classes or instruction. You are free to train with your own program, or try one of our posted workouts.

 

During Open Gym supervisors are available to spot. All supervisors hold a minimum of an Emergency First Aid Certificate.

Alpine Lite

A scaled down version of our Alpine Strength program. Our one hour Alpine Lite classes are designed to promote functional movement, improved flexibility, and increased bone density for those who don’t plan on slowing down for retirement.

A health screening questionnaire is required as a prerequisite before joining the Alpine Lite program.

Sessions are available Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Drop ins are welcome. Check our class schedule for more information.

Kids and Teens Programs

We run programs for kids and teens catering to four different age categories:

Alpine Rabbits (Age 7-9)

Coming Soon!  A structured class where kids are introduced to basic body weight and agility exercises, then put them into practice with games and obstacle courses.  
 

Prerequisite: None.

Alpine Foxes (Age 10-11)

Young athletes are introduced to a structured class format focusing on body weight, banded, agility, and dumbbell exercises.  

 

Prerequisite: Completion of Alpine Rabbits or permission from a Black Beaver Athletic coach.

Alpine Lynx (Age 12-14)

Athletes are introduced to the concept of training towards their athletic goals, and the importance of balancing strength, conditioning, and mobility, while participating in workouts and games with their peers.  

 

Prerequisite: Completion of Alpine Foxes or permission from a Black Beaver Athletic coach.

Alpine Bears (Age 15-17)

A combination of our Alpine Strength and Alpine Conditioning classes where young athletes get to train with their peers.  

 

Prerequisite: Alpine Lynx, Alpine Foundations or permission from a Black Beaver Athletic coach.

Alpine Foundations

An introductory program designed to prepare you for our Alpine Strength classes.

 

Alpine Foundations focuses on learning the proper technique for common lifts and gym movements. Both beginners and seasoned gym goers will benefit from this technique tune up before tackling the heavier weights in Alpine Strength.

A health screening questionnaire is required as a prerequisite before joining the Alpine Foundations.
